Top 10 Films of the 1990s
I participated in the Muriels poll this year, and one of the sections of the ballot was “Best Film of the 1990s.” I was particularly happy with my choices:
- The Wind Will Carry Us (Abbas Kiarostami)
- Goodbye South, Goodbye (Hou Hsiao-Hsien)
- A Tale of Winter (Eric Rohmer)
- Heat (Michael Mann)
- The Thin Red Line (Terrence Malick)
- Paris Is Burning (Jennie Livingston)
- Autumn Tale (Eric Rohmer)
- The Wild Reeds (André Techiné)
- The Bridges of Madison County (Clint Eastwood)
- Beau Travail (Claire Denis)
(Looking at this now, the order might change somewhat. I hate putting films in order anyways, but I stand by all 10 of these films for sure.)
